Compassion, dignity, and comfort are provided by Four Seasons for you or your loved one.
Hospice Care is specialized care provided with comfort as the primary goal. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of Four Seasons hospice professionals who attend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the individual and family. Our team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help you and your loved ones navigate your care needs.
No, quite the contrary. You or your loved one does not have to be in your final days to be provided Hospice Care. Medicare provides a six month hospice benefit – not six weeks, not six days; which is a common misconception. Often people who receive Hospice Care in fact live longer than six months and live fuller, more pain free life. In recent studies it has been proven that patients who receive Hospice Care tend to actually live longer.
Many times friends or families will call out of concern for a loved one who is struggling with their illness. We take it from there and will talk with the prospective patient, family and their physician to get services started.
Four Seasons provides Hospice Care in all area hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, private residences and at the Elizabeth House, a 12-bed inpatient setting on our Flat Rock campus.
Anyone who has a prognosis of six months or less is eligible for hospice services. Ask your doctor if you are eligible for hospice care services or call our office at (828) 692.6178 (Local) or (866) 466.9734 (Toll free).
