Grief Services

    Emotional Support Matters.

Grieving is difficult.  We’re here to help.

Our grief services department offers emotional support and treatment for those who anticipate or experience the loss of a loved one.  Children and adolescents can receive counseling through our COMPASS program.

We serve not only those who have experienced the death of loved ones in our hospice program, but also to anyone in the counties we serve who desire help dealing with the death of someone. Intervention can be initiated before the pending death, or after it has occurred.

Click here to learn more about our COMPASS program.

Grief counselors facilitate interactive support groups in a confidential and comfortable environment in which participants share grief experiences with others.  Adult support groups meet for six to eight sessions, depending on the group.  Our ongoing Moving Forward group meets monthly.

COMPASS offers groups for children/adolescents and their parents in a seven-session series. Click here to learn more about these groups.

Educational workshops provide general information about grief.  Grief 101 meets monthly and is a prerequisite for adult support groups. Seminars are available for presentations in the community on various topics and can be customized to meet the needs of your group or organization.

    Group Grief Support:

The year following a loss can be the most difficult for many.  During this time, we will provide quarterly mailings and phone calls to remind you of our grief support services.  You may choose to decline these calls and mailings but remember that you can reach out to us for grief support at any time. Click here if you would like to receive call and/or mailings.

Our volunteer Bereavement Buddy pairs trained volunteers with grieving individuals who would like weekly friendship-based contact.  Click below to watch a video about our Bereavement Buddy program.

Our professionally trained counseling staff provides time-limited individual counseling for the purpose of addressing grief related to the death of a loved one.  Learn more about treatment modalities available to you:
