PC Postcard Spring 2019

I can receive palliative care for any chronic illness with which I’m diagnosed.

True! Palliative care is available to any individual who has a serious or life-limiting illness. Because palliative care is a consultative service, it functions much like other types of medical specialties such as cardiology, urology, etc. By helping to manage symptoms related to your serious illness and guiding you through your healthcare decisions, palliative care provides an important layer of support when you need help navigating your healthcare.

I don’t want to have a lot of people coming to my home, so I can’t receive palliative care.

False! Palliative care is a non-invasive, supportive service. We provide consults with a nurse practitioner based on your wishes, usually once a month. We also have clinic settings in the Asheville and Hendersonville areas if you would rather come to an office setting. Our goal is to provide care in a way that is easiest and comfortable for you.
